Planning Your Child's Party

Updated: Sep 24

Planning a child’s party can be so daunting that you don’t even want to think about it. There's so much to consider that it's not even funny. Fortunately for you, Non Stop Kids are here to help. In this Blog we make the unthinkable - thinkable. We will discuss how to make planning your child’s party more manageable and easier, saving yourself tons of unnecessary hassle. Follow this advice and you will be rocketing the planning a party theme!

Arranging Your Kid's Celebration

For the first step of planning, you should structure the organising in an order that makes it work for you. Begin with picking a good area, date, time and amount of kids. Start with all the little basic details of the party like who you want to invite, where it will be and etc. From here, you can gradually build it up until your party is booked. We do recommend that are prepared to be flexible on the timing as you may have to prepare to alter the time in order to fit everything in.

The Simple Steps!

We have the date and time to begin with. Of course, you would love your party to be on your child's day itself, but in the chance that it's on a week day, you may not be able to get as many guests. Parents who have just been to work all day may lack the energy to bring their child to your party, or there may be parents who work in the evening. There is nothing wrong with celebrating their birthday on another day. The important part is giving your child a special time!

On the subject of guests, you will want to consider how many guests you are considering inviting. You don't want unexpected visitors showing up and being unable to accommodate everyone with food and drink. Know who is attending, both for hassle and safety concerns. Once you have an area to plan in mind, make sure that it's somewhere local and easy to find for your guests to attend. The last thing you want is your party to be in the middle of nowhere, far from civilisation.

If you are providing food and drink, please be cautious that no one has any food allergies or follow a certain lifestyle (e.g vegetarians). We don't want anyone falling ill from food. As a parent, if you are hiring entertainment, book as soon as possible! Here at Non Stop Kids, we take so many bookings that we've already reserved spots in 2021! How insane is that?

Don’t Book Anything Straight Away!

If there’s a specific company you want for your party then do not book the dependant features first. For example, if you are wishing to book Non Stop Kids then you need to give a predicted area of where the party is roughly going to take place. Make sure the entertainer is available for that day (Non Stop Kids will try to move entertainers around to get the entertainer you wish for in your area ) and then book the venue to make sure you can book a venue for that day/time. Then confirm with the entertainment company; here at Non Stop Kids we will accommodate changes given enough notice This means you do not book one thing and then not another which leaves you in a sticky spot.

Consider Colour Scheme Or A Themed Party!

Depending what your child is into, you can theme the party to a specific genre. Unfortunately, while we can't dress up as mascots due to copyright laws, we can happily work it still with the music and make with it. For example, we have our own Superhero mascot named Captain Magic! For a child that might love Spiderman, our entertainer can come down as Captain Magic and tell the kids how he knows Spiderman! Whatever theme you go with, just make sure it's something your child loves!

Some kids love a particular theme to their party. For a girly party, most girls like a princess theme like Frozen with Elsa for example, whereas boys may prefer a Star Wars theme, or if you have a mix of boys and girls then the superhero theme may be an option. Having a good colour scheme would also be really beneficial as it gives the party that touch of glamour and sparkle. Of course it’s not compulsory but if you want a glamorous millionaires party then that’s the way to go (no exaggeration there whatsoever!)

Know What You Want, Too!

When you are organising a party, you need to make sure you know what you want. What theme are you looking for, what sort of times, what day etc. If you do not know what you want then organising a party is going to be tricky. You really need to take the time to think through what you are really after. This makes it easier to make sure all of your events are in sync with each other so it will all work out in time with each other.

Write Down Your Plan!

Write everything down, it’s best not to try to keep it in your memory (unless you have an photographic memory!) Documenting the plan and the details on paper really allows you to look at the details all written down together and pinpoint if there’s anything missing. Putting your plan down of paper means that it’s easy to plan everything together.

Overall, follow these tips and you should be able to book your child’s party up in no time! Have a great party! If you would like a hassle free experience, Non Stop Kids are more then happy to help!
